moodboard context

amount of work for context portolio

just looked through my physical portfolio before NTU and i've got loads of work, ive got no clue how to order it logically ?
in chronological order ? order of my strongest works first ? since its for the project and not yet live do they wanna see my journey throughout ? or just in education.
Ive gotta look at search forms maybe ? or how to categorize it ? do i give a page explaining about it all because of how much there is, i know itd be useful.

Shortlisted it to the best of what ive done, which is listed below. something to look into and stress about

a lot of its uploaded already to lucyalexanderportfolio,blogspot.com something ive been using temporarily before this projects done.

Just sorted this problem! gonna do a key, 3 seperate shapes/coloured objects for print web and illustration that on the hover over load to the work underneath, maybe a description, this means i can order it chronologically which will offhand be my strongest to weakest anyway. sortedddd
maybe loading into an accordian. haha so ahead of myself

stuff t eenclood for context

THE FOLD

dedicated my entire night to finding a way round the fold for my portfolio.
wanted to get somewhere good, like on my voyage you could see the page below, i wanted to find somethin to resize the page automatically for every screen res/browser whatever.

HOURS SPENT SEARCHING.

found a javascript way that i cant seem to put into place, that felt so close to a breakthrough.
(im gonna hit david in the face with it friday in hopes he might be able to help me, determined ot get somewhere better than voyarjj)

had a computer breakdown, had to reinstall dreamweaver, cried.

onwards and upwards, spoke to everyone i know who does web design in the real world, then to uni fellows, still no further forward.

Had a look at responsive design, media queries and css trickles. so close but not at all what Iwanted. I'm not gonna make my portfolio responsive, because quite frankly that ain realistic for me right now. that can be an issue i tackle for the DP3 and then later integrate with this.

Finallyyyy after looking into frames, which was fruitless, I spoke t Chris, who quite frankly showed me all the sites I liked cos of their fold'iness werent even doing what I thought they were, and within 5 minutes found more results than my hours. haha so angry, so frustrated. theyre all designed towards my macs screen size, and look shite on the shite desktops well be showcasing our work on. gutted.

Not entirely a wasted evening, found a way around it, make each page massive, but the info contained within minimum screen size.the appearance of the know.

im gonna take a break hit back on the wireframes and branding, and go sleep knowing i took 147845 steps nowhere but half an inch forward

web and willustration win won

THE JAVA

z'above uses javscript to make this whole site ooze th html5 jam. the twitter birds fly around and you hover the stop for a chat.
stumbled across it during tutor.

I love this one, its all javascript, but its animated, similar to a html 5 one we were shown ( from design festivals top 30 illustrated background sites). it interacts with the way you navigate the page. the hot air balloons on the way up.perfect mix of grillustration and web design.

THE FOLD

warri liked about these was the way theyd used the fold to their advantage, a lotta sites ive been spying are one page smooth scrolls (like whats i did in voyage) but theres not many sites that use % not px to make the most of the fold despite screen resolution/size. something I want to get t grips on if I decide t go down this route.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD

this ones mental, its all animated, hand drawn no graphics web 2.0 nonsense. its for a character animator, and i reckon its done himself proud. another one page number, but so different to th standard under the sea / space /underground journeys.all flash

catch up

Since startting back come the o 12, ive been flagging sincerely on everything.
Struggling baad with getting a motivation and buzz for stuff, leaving things last minute, everythings up in the stuffy air.
The restaurant/bar re design never got past its wireframe status, so having to cut that one loose for the mean time so I can shove all my attention towards the context portolio assignment, and the DP3 artist site, for mobilisation.

I'm really looking forward to this portfolio thing, gonna be great to have a not crap thing representing me. Its gonna be hard work making myself a brand, and a domain name, real hard work but if i can do it in time and to a high enough standard, gonna have a masssive flood of 'it wa worth the all nighters'.

Im finding it abit ard coming up with a design thats gonna do  my style justice. Im heavily illustrative, but I need it to look professional, designing a website that incirporates illustration and the smooth graphical approach of the web is gonna be a killer.
I've been searching through the design fest list, as well as a few other top 50 web design, illustration backgrounds and so on.. and I reckon animation and javascript could hold the key.

As of now, im set on using as much javascript as i can do to my animations, rather than Edge. I wanna test myself and hurl me'sen int the deep end of the horrid code so i can get it more, no point in playing the avoid. Edge is smooth, seamless and the new hype, but I've been seeing some really great stuff with javascript that works just aswell. If I've got time ill try both.

DP3
I've got a few friends who want websites sorting so this should be pretty cool, and the pressures off cos they wont have to use it when im finished. Looking forward to Thursdays lessons and the start of a new thing.

in order to beat my time managment issue ive devised myself a new timetable, im likely to stick to since i take weekends off on the whole.

2 of the 3 days off = 5 hours portfolio 3 hours DP3 (until the context deadline)
all other days 4 hours split.
